"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society"-Jiddu Krishnamurti
On January 20th, I woke up with vertigo. The world was spinning, and I felt completely out of control—the metaphor wasn't lost on me.
The state of our world can feel just as disorienting. We live within systems built for profit, power, and control—often at the expense of the well-being of people and the planet. We're told there are only two sides, each vilifying the other. But what if there are serious issues within each side that go unacknowledged because of the perspective that "my side" is better than the other?
We stay in an echo chamber—furious and divided.
It's easy to “other” those who think differently. But we’re all being manipulated to see enemies in our families and communities instead of the corporate oligarchy that controls politics and media. When we keep fighting each other they aren't held accountable for their actions or hypocrisy. The more divided we are, the easier we are to control.
The headlines are designed to create an emotional response - fear, anger, scarcity. No doubt your body is feeling it.
It’s a mess out there, friends. My vertigo has passed, but my head still spins. So here’s a few things I’m trying to do—imperfectly:
✨ Hold myself accountable and work regularly with my shadow to resist the hate and dehumanization that is rising.
✨ Practice energetic hygiene—hydrating physically, emotionally, and spiritually to stay resilient and connected to what matters.
✨ Remember our shared humanity—propaganda thrives on division.
✨ Regulate my nervous system—meditation, network spinal sessions, and grounding help me resist fear-based narratives.
✨ Foster and nurture meaningful connections with others —so I feel less isolated and more hopeful.
✨ Make intentional choices—about spending, consuming, and engaging with the world.
✨ Support local community and ethical businesses—even when it’s less convenient.
None of this is easy, and I don’t have all the answers. But I do believe we each have the power to take small steps toward building the kind of community we want to be part of.
How are you navigating all of this? I’d love to hear.
